Which Danielson Domain does Canva help with?Canva really helps teachers meet Domain 2 of Danielson's Framework: Classroom Environment. Specifically, Canva really helps with element e of the domain: organizing physical space. Canva posters can help you organize the room a way that best furthers student success and learning. Maybe you create a poster to label the different portions of the room, or a calendar of events, or maybe you create a poster to put learning processes on the walls to help students; all of these not only further learning, they help create a classroom environment that looks professional, appealing, and welcoming. The poster can also help to prevent danger or hazards; maybe you create a poster that explains an important process or procedure, like what to do during a fire, or the process for putting away/cleaning up dangerous chemicals in science class.
How does Canva relate to the SAMR model? The goal of the SAMR model is to incorporate technology into the classroom to give students the most opportunity for success and learning. Canva can totally apply to this model; we can use Canva in so many different ways in the classroom. Instead of students making their own poster for a project on paper, the teacher can simply substitute in Canva; they can use that to create their project. Canva is such a great tool that the simple process of giving it to students as options allows for so much potential and creativity.

What is Canva?Canva is a really awesome technology that allows you to be the creator. As a teacher, you are always looking for cool new ways to embellish and decorate your room. Canva allows the teacher to really personalize the posters that are in their classrooms and give meaning and purpose to the ideas that are on them. Even more than decorations, you can use the poster as really cool and unique reminders of how do processes, like the order of operations or the 5 steps of the writing process. The ideas and possibilities are endless with Canva.
How to get a Canva?Canva is not only free but accessible and easy-to-use as well. Getting a Canva is really simple and free. All you have to do is create an account on the Canva website, and you literally have access to millions of poster ideas, backgrounds, templates, font sizes, colors, whatever you need. There are so many different free elements and images that are available, too. Even if the picture that you are looking for is not available for free, you can still insert pictures and clip-art from outside sources. You can also take your poster and print it out, send it to colleagues, or embed it into a website, like I did here.
What did I like about creating a Canva?I love how Canva is a really cool and unique that I can use to decorate and personalize my classroom. I personally love creating and designing, so this tool is something I truly believe I will use in my future classroom. The fact that it was so simple to create and make a poster really appealed to me. There are times in life where you might have restricted time or must meet a deadline. Canva provides a solution to that because it is simple to use and accessible.
How can I use Canva in my future classroom?Because Canva is such a great tool, with so many uses, I want to take full advantages of those uses. I could use it to make posters to decorate and organize my room, I could use it to make procedural posters, I could use it as tool for my students to create, I could use it to make calendars, I could use it to make motivational posters, whatever the use. I truly believe that Canva is a great tool. I know that I am going to make Canva one of the technologies that are a part of my classroom as much as possible.
