What is Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching and why is it important?
Danielson's Framework for Teaching was written by Charlotte Danielson, with the understanding of the complexity of teaching and the cognitive demands it makes. Danielson developed the Framework as a means to promote clear and meaningful conversations about effective practice. Danielson's and the Danielson Group's goal is advance the understanding and application of the Framework in the educational community, connect it to other areas of knowledge, and enhance the professional practices of educators to positively impact student learning. The Framework for Teaching is a set of 4 domains that are aligned to the INTASC standards and grounded in a constructivist view of learning and teaching.
