What is Gynzy?
Gynzy is an interactive whiteboard tool that allows for the teacher to create fun, engaging, and insightful presentations that will help students to learn through interaction with technology. Gynzy is really fun and easy to use; by signing up for a free trial, you have access to thousands of already created presentations for any grade level K-12 and for different subjects, as well. Gynzy is a really cool interactive technology because unlike other presentations, it has different elements and aspects that other tools do not. With Gynzy, you can use a cover square, timer, scoreboard, shapes, pen, chart-maker, media, ruler, calculator, protractor, and other cool tools. This tools allow for students to interact on a personal level in the lesson. This hands-on learning is really effective because the students are the ones that are participating and completing the different tasks. There are also really cool and interactive ways to assess for student learning; you can create countless activities and ways to engage students. These activities are very helpful to students and to the teacher.
What did I create?
In my Gyzny, I created a presentation for the 5th grade that is all about theme. My first slide, I created using the text and shape tools. This slide introduces the topic to students, gives a definition with a link to a website, provides some information about it, and lists some examples. The second slide contains a video about what theme is, how to find it, and what types of theme there are (explicit and implicit). The next slide contains an assessment activity that I created using the shape tools and the chart-maker. This activity is designed as a matching activity using popular stories and movies; this is effective because it lists stories and movies that are well-known by students, and then it relates it to the topic. The fourth slide contains a passage and a question pertaining to it. The students must answering by dragging the sentence that contains the theme; it also contains a cover tool that allows for the answer to be revealed after student answering and class discussion. The following slide contains two multiple-choice questions that helps students to discern the difference between theme and subject. This is a type of assessment that allows for discussion and answering by students; there is also a link to a later slide with the correct answers on it. The sixth slide contains three passages for students to read and then to highlight the phrases that link the three together, through a common theme. This gives students more practice with the passages and allows for the students to think about, answer, and discuss the passages; there is also a link to a later slide with the answers on it. The seventh and final slide, allows for a summative evaluation through a 7-question quiz. The quiz also grades itself so that the teacher can view the results.

Application to Component 3d
Component 3d of Danielson's Framework is about using assessment in the classroom. Gynzy allows for many different ways to assess for student learning and understanding. Through Gynzy, there are different types of assessment that can be used: formative and summative. For formative assessment, you can create several types of activities that can be implemented as students progress in the lesson. For my presentation, I used matching, multiple-choice, and passage-based questions in my lesson. I also included a summative review of the material in the form of the quiz at the end. These assessments allow for an engaging way to give students hands-on instruction and gives the teacher a way to asses student learning in an effective manner.
Artifact reflection
How can I use Gynzy in my classroom? I can use Gynzy daily in my classroom, or some form of interactive tool. Gynzy allows for me to create presentations that effectively present my lessons to students. It includes ways to have formative and summative assessment inter-twined with instruction. Gynzy is a really cool tool and is easy to use, as well.
What did I like about creating with Gynzy? I really enjoyed creating with Gynzy. It allowed me to think about what I would include in my lesson plan and then create a presentation based on that. It was fun creating the activities, and I like to think that if you are not having fun, then your students will not have fun either. Gynzy was also so easy to use that it made the process much more fun.
How does Gynzy relate to the SAMR model? Gynzy relates to the SAMR model becuase you are implementing technology that allows for something to be created with technology that was not possible before. Compared to regular lessons, there is not easy way to create assessment by hand. Even with other presentation tools, there is not a lot of ways to create using assessment. With Gynzy, you are able to give students hands-on interaction with technology. This makes the learning meaningful and allows for them to be engaged. It also allows for gauging student learning possible, as well. As a whole, Gynzy allows for the betterment of student learning and success through technology.
